PAG Will be
VERY visible at the Arizona State
Fair "Desert Dreams" art exhibits, October 15 - November 7, 2010!
Many of the PAG members participated in
the 2009 program, and we were so well received and appreciated that
Phoenix Artists Guild has been asked, and graciously accepted to
participate in and provide volunteer support of the Arizona State Fair
2010 “Desert Drama” art show, October 15 through November 7, 2010.
Among our contributions will be
Artist Demos; judging, hostessing, posting, and monitoring art
displays.
September15 is the deadline to enter
the various categories such as:
Demo artists are encouraged to bring
brochures, business cards, info on how to join various art groups,
etc… Elaine Waters, Carolyn Tolliver, Dr. Carl Hoelle, and Monique
Spinabella have already volunteered to demo.
PAG’s selection to be a Judge (one of three to be
selected) may show, but cannot enter the competition. The Judges
this year will be from different backgrounds and experience, so that
each year there are different judges, on a rotation.
Hostesses (usually 3 to 5) may do 3
to 4 hour shifts. Volunteers are also needed at the Reception as
well as Sponsor (twenty dollars donation gets a mention as a Sponsor
at the Fair!
Volunteers will get free admission
and free parking.
Another feature, ”Artists at the
Fair” competition, will have up to 15 artists paint all day in their
choice of assigned locations. At the end of the day a prize is
awarded by a Judge to the two best paintings.

available at the July summer critique meeting and at the
first general meeting on August 23rd.

Fall Juried Fine Art Exhibition
and help them celebrate the first year in their new
building. Juror is noted valley artist Joan

Gilbert Visual Art League
(GVAL) invites Arizona fine artists to participate in the 8th
annual Juried Fine Art Show. There will be over $1000 awarded in
cash prizes. Exhibit dates: November 5 through November 20,
2010
Place: Gilbert
Historical Museum, 10 South Gilbert Road in Gilbert.
The show is open to all Arizona artists, 18 years or
older. All original artwork in two and three dimensions are
welcome. Only JPEGs sent electronically or on CDs will be
accepted.
Entry fee is $10 per piece for GVAL members and $20 per piece for
non-members. Entries are due October 1, 2010. The
prospectus and entry form are available on the GVAL web site at

EXHIBIT ROTATION AT THE SKYE
RESTAURANT
The second phase exhibition that
began January 31st, 2009 will be taken down on July 31st, 2009. New 2D and
wall mounted 3D art work is needed for the third phase
exhibition which will begin July 31st, 2009 and continue through
January 31st, 2010.

Arizona Art Alliance
Most of the members of Phoenix Artists Guild are
juried members of
Arizona Art Alliance.
The members produce and display their art in art
show and sale events and exhibits, displaying juried fine art, including two
and three-dimensional pieces. They share their knowledge and
experiences through exhibits, workshops and art classes. Many of
the members also participate in community outreach projects.
Get juried into the Arizona Art Alliance,
for great opportunities to show in their Fall and Spring shows.
