to hang 2 paintings each, in the on-going exhibit

 at JB's Restaurant.

Elaine Waters reports there are 32 paintings hangIng.  All the artists participated in hanging the work, but a few folks were particularly helpful.  Those special folks are: Maxine James, Jeannette Sprague, Carmen Timm, Carl Hoelle, and Julie Frye. These people are really appreciated.

 

Artists exhibiting are:

Larry Andrews, Bets Doss, Julie Frye, Ann Higgins, Pat Gellenbeck, Shirley Jonas, Clarice Mcilvain, Alice Okoneski, Monique Spinabella, Carmen Timm, and Carolyn Tollivar, Kristi Brown., Dr. Carl Hoelle, Jean Morgan, Virginia Wordsman, Catherine Molla, Maxine James, Alice Okoneski,  Anita Paulin, Kristi Brown, and Elaine Waters.

10%  sales will go to PAG. 

The exhibit also has a booth where jewelry ad small crafts will be displayed for sale.  Sadly, JB's is closing September 30, 2010.

PAG Will be VERY visible at the Arizona State Fair "Desert Dreams" art exhibits, October 15 - November 7, 2010!

 

Many of the PAG members participated in the 2009 program, and we were so well received and appreciated that Phoenix Artists Guild has been asked, and graciously accepted to participate in and provide volunteer support of the Arizona State Fair 2010 “Desert Drama” art show, October 15 through November 7, 2010. 

Among our contributions will be Artist Demos; judging, hostessing, posting, and monitoring art displays. 

 September15 is the deadline to enter the various categories such as:

• Youth, Senior, Disabled, Amateur

• Fine Arts

Demo artists are encouraged to bring brochures, business cards, info on how to join various art groups, etc…  Elaine Waters, Carolyn Tolliver, Dr. Carl Hoelle, and Monique Spinabella have already volunteered to demo.

 PAG’s selection to be a Judge (one of three to be selected) may show, but cannot enter the competition.  The Judges this year will be from different backgrounds and experience, so that each year there are different judges, on a rotation.

Hostesses (usually 3 to 5) may do 3 to 4 hour shifts.  Volunteers are also needed at the Reception as well as Sponsor (twenty dollars donation gets a mention as a Sponsor at the Fair! 

 Volunteers will get free admission and free parking.

 Another feature, ”Artists at the Fair” competition, will have up to 15 artists paint all day in their choice of assigned locations.  At the end of the day a prize is awarded by a Judge to the two best paintings.
